Harrison Barnes Soared His Way Into the NBA Finals
When you think of the 2014-15 Golden State Warriors, you immediately think of the magical season of Steph Curry, or his hot-shooting “Splash Brother” Klay Thompson, or sensational new coach Steve Kerr.
One player every Tar Heel will think of, however, is Harrison Barnes, and he saved one of his best NBA games to close out the Houston Rockets and advance to the NBA Finals.
Barnes led all scorers in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals with a game-high 24 points, but will be remembered for his complete takeover of the game in the fourth quarter. Barnes charged a 9-2 run that helped the Warriors run away, including this monster dunk over two Rockets:
Oracle Arena wasn’t the only hype group of people after that dunk. Barnes’ jam set #UNCTwitter ablaze:
It was such an impressive run that even rap legend and Friend of the Depot Lil B did his trademark cooking dance to explain just how hot Barnes was:

Barnes and the Warriors (a team that also features James Michael McAdoo on the bench) will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers (a team that features Brendan Haywood on the bench) in the NBA Finals. We are guaranteed a former Tar Heel to bring home a ring this postseason, and that’s pretty cool. You can catch Game One of the NBA Finals on June 4th at 9 p.m. on ABC.
